Preparing myself for the worst … I went looking for our littlest lamb this morning. Mumma sheep is keeping up with her new role … Little lamb happy and healthy, you are now over 24 hours old.

I was so excited on Monday when I got home from work. I went for my usual walk in the paddock to find that Lambie number 10 had been born!

Although, Monday night proved to be very cold and come Tuesday morning before heading out to work…I noticed that mother sheep had no lamb! I did a quick dash around the paddock and to no avail could find Lambie 10…. I can only imagine it didn’t survive the cold night. Mumma sheep is doing well. It is now Wednesday…and still no sign of the lambs return. I’m sorry Mumma sheep.ðŸ˜
This morning…. Before work, I noticed a brand new lamb… I made sure it wasn’t our missing mystery…. nope…a brand new Lamb!!

So I thought after work today I would try to put these two in the cover for the night….hahahah O my! After half hour of unsuccessfully rounding them up, the dear little thing got itself through the fence. Doh!

O bother…. So I walked up the drive and picked her up!!

I thought I could lure Mumma sheep into the cottage for the night by holding her baby…. All I created was havoc as Mumma sheep was not impressed at all. I let them find each other…and I hope Mumma will keep her warm over night!.
I will let you know in the morning….
I never realised how amusing sheep are.. since we moved to our ‘farm’ in April, we started with 50 or so sheep… We didn’t realise that we have a Randy ram!
Sipping our coffee on the balcony one afternoon we jumped up so high with the screech of a sheep!! A new Mumma sheep!! This hence started the lambing season. She was not the only Mumma, another lamb was in the paddock!! Number 2!!!
About a week later, sheep number 3…..

And then…. number 4…

And number 5…6….7…8….and…..9

Thank goodness I saw number 9 on the other side of the paddock….. Nothing like walking Mumma and lamb to the safety side by the house!!
Within the week we will have lamb number 10!!!!
Phew…. Silly sheep having their babies in Winter!!!
